On night of August 30 to 31, a rare astronomical phenomenon can be observed

The second full moon in August will be observed on the night of August 30-31 in Belarus, BelTA reported. This is a rare astronomical event.

This full moon will be the second full moon in August, making it a "blue Moon" as defined by Sky&Telescope magazine in 1946. The first full moon occured on August 1.

However, this phenomenon has nothing to do with the color of the moon. The name "blue Moon" is associated with the famous expression "Once under a blue moon", which characterizes a very rare event.
