Pedestrian street and food mall will appear in Minsk center

The architects propose a new concept for the development of the territory of the polygraph plant on Jakuba Kolosa Square, citydog.by writes with reference to the Minsk-News agency. There may be two new buildings and a pedestrian street.

The four-storey building of the Minsk Polygraph Plant, located along Krasnaya Street and V. Charuzaj Street appeared in 1956. In 2021, the restoration of the facades began. Now there is a new concept of building the entire territory, with an area of more than 2 hectares.

The architects propose to build two new buildings, and create a pedestrian street between them. It will be about 26m wide. A recreation area will be formed along the street. The two-storey food mall will be inside. There will be cafes or restaurants facing the square. On the second side of the street there will be an eco-market and a supermarket. New and old buildings can accommodate offices, apartments, lecture halls.

The concept has already been considered by the Committee of Architecture and Urban Planning. According to preliminary information, an architectural project is expected to be developed by the end of 2022.
