Production of the Belarusian COVID-19 vaccine will begin in November

The BelVitunifarm enterprise in the Vitebsk region will start production of the Belarusian COVID vaccine by the end of November. After the release of the first experimental one, its clinical trials will take place, BelTA reported.

The vaccine has already passed preclinical tests and has shown high efficacy. The BelVitunifarm experimental production workshop is already equipped with all the necessary equipment and is ready to release the first experimental batch.

The company will also produce other vaccination products for both children and adults. These will be vaccines adapted to Belarusians, taking into account the genetic characteristics of the inhabitants of the country. As you know, vaccines that are produced abroad may act differently on residents of other countries than on the indigenous population.

If the epidemiological situation changes, the company will be able to quickly adapt the composition of vaccines to new strains of coronavirus.

Recently, a decree was signed according to which pharmacies should lower the prices of medicines if the Belarusian ruble becomes more expensive relative to foreign currencies.
