Public members may be involved in decision-making in the Supreme Court

The verdict of the Supreme Court can be appealed against in a special commission, which can include not only judges, but also members of the public. This bill was discussed at a meeting with the President, writes pravo.by with reference to BELTA.

The new bill will make it possible to file appeals and protests against sentences handed down by the Supreme Court in the first instance. A special appeals board will be created in the Supreme Court. It will include special judges, the most experienced, members of the Presidium of the Supreme Court, not related to the consideration of the case in the first instance of the Supreme Court. As well as reputable members of the public.
