Rules for crossing Lithuanian-Belarusian border for foreigners
The Lithuanian Seimas has again extended the state of emergency in the country until December 16, "Sobiray Rukzak" reported. There are also new rules for crossing the Lithuanian border from the territory of Belarus. May we remind you that Minsktrans may refuse to transport passengers with D visas.
Changes that will take effect from December 16:
- complete suspension of visa applications for citizens of Belarus and Russia, except in cases where the Foreign Ministry acts as an intermediary;
- strengthening the protection of the state border of Lithuania with Belarus, as well as Russia;
- more thorough inspections of passengers, luggage and cars at the border;
- The transit of foreigners through the territory of Lithuania will be carried out in accordance with the conditions established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and agreed with the State Border Service. There will probably be a ban on leaving Lithuania when traveling by train to Kaliningrad.
- a ban on Russian citizens crossing the border, except in humanitarian cases.
The main thing at the moment is that Russian citizens are prohibited from crossing the border of Lithuania and Belarus (except in humanitarian cases). Citizens of Belarus and other countries are allowed to enter if they have any visa.
