Sabalenka Advances to the Third Round of the WTA-1000 Toronto Tournament

Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka has reached the third round of the WTA-1000 tournament in Toronto, Sputnik reports.

The world No. 1 defeated Japan’s Moyuka Uchijima 6–3, 6–3 in the second round in a match that lasted 1 hour and 23 minutes.

Sabalenka’s next opponent will be China’s Zhang Shuai, currently ranked 62nd in the world. Sabalenka has held the WTA No.

1 ranking continuously since autumn 2024.
