“Smart” windows from Belarusian scientists

Scientists of the Belarusian State University presented a new invention - “smart” windows, reports dev.by.

Such multifunctional windows have no analogues among the CIS countries. A similar development was recently created in China, but its cost was much higher.

Smart windows are a liquid crystal panel that responds to weather conditions and adapts its surface to them. So, for example, windows can go from transparent to matte. This panel protects the room and people in it from harmful infrared rays and ultraviolet radiation from the sun. The surface of the windows can become so impenetrable that people do not even need curtains. And also this panel can be used as a sun visor in a car.

In addition, “smart” windows can be used as information or advertising displays on the remote control.
