Belarusian tennis player Arina Sobolenko has reached the semifinals of the tennis tournament, which is being held in Montreal, Canada, minsknews.by reports.

The meeting for the right to compete in the semifinals of the prestigious WTA1000 series took place on the evening of Friday, August 13 – Sobolenko's opponent was compatriot Victoria Azarenka.

The match between the two Belarusians ended with the score 6:2, 6:4 in favor of Sobolenko. The meeting lasted 1 hour and 20 minutes.

In the semifinals, Sobolenko will play with Karolina Pliskova (6th WTA) from the Czech Republic.
