Sugar prices increase in Belarus

Selling prices for sugar are being raised in Belarus, CityDod.io writes. According to the Belgospishcheprom, this will protect the domestic market and prevents the export of sugar to Russia, where prices for it are twice as high. The price per 1kg will increase by BYN0.60.

The demand for sugar increased in Belarus. In March 2021, 1-1.5 packs of sugar per month were sold per person. In March 2022, 3 kg of sugar for one person was sold. Therefore, measures have been taken to protect the domestic market.

At the same time, there are four sugar enterprises operating in Belarus. The total daily production is about 4800 tons. These resources make it possible to fully meet the demand of the domestic market for white sugar. Sugar supplies to stores are going according to plan.
