Summer weaving school in Lida on ancient craft

On August 22-23, the Lida Department of Crafts and Traditional Culture will host a summer weaving school for students from all over Belarus, Belarus Today reports.

Under the guidance of the national master Valentina Silvanovich, children will get acquainted with the traditions of Ponemanya weaving, the oldest craft in Belarus. The school's program includes excursions, master classes, acquaintance with ethnographic funds and visits to cultural sites of Lidchina.

Weaving, which was once a common craft, is now being actively revived in the Grodno region, uniting people and preserving cultural heritage.
