Test systems for the diagnosis of hepatitis E will appear in Belarus
A professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Belarusian State Medical University told what is dangerous about hepatitis E and what developments are being carried out in the field of diagnosis of the disease in Belarus, Sputnik reported.
At the moment, in Belarus, the presence of hepatitis E in the body was determined using foreign diagnostic systems. However, over the past four years, Belarusians have developed a number of their immunoassay systems for the diagnosis of hepatitis E. Currently, work is underway to prepare them for release.
Four patents have already been obtained for Belarusian developments. In the near future, test systems for humans and animals will be released.
Hepatitis E is an acute inflammatory liver lesion caused by the hepatitis E virus. In recent decades, it has been established that the hepatitis E virus is found not only in developing countries, but also in developed countries, and is mainly a zooanthroponotic infection.
