The Belarusian freestyle wrestler won silver at the Olympic Games in Tokyo

Belarusian freestyle wrestler Irina Kurochkina has won a silver medal at the Olympic Games in Tokiominsknews.by reports.

Irina Kurochkina, competing in the weight category up to 57 kg, lost to Risako Kawai from Japan in the final bout. The score in the decisive battle is 5:0 in favor of the Japanese freestyle wrestler.

Before that, the 27-year-old Belarusian won over athletes from Bulgaria, India and Russia.

"A lot of work has been done to achieve this result. Maybe there is a bad aftertaste, which is not gold. I'm crying, but... This is a success! I am grateful to my family and many, many others for helping to achieve this result. There is something to work on. Thank you all! " - said Irina.

The athlete brought our country the third medal of the Olympic Games-2020. Earlier, the awards were won by trampolinist Ivan Litvinovich (gold) and high jumper Maxim Nedosekov (bronze).
