The Cherry Orchard ballet will be restored at the Musical Theater

On July 6, the Belarusian Musical Theater will present a renewed version of the ballet The Cherry Orchard, marking the 165th anniversary of Anton Chekhov, according to BelTA.

The production is based on Chekhov’s famous play and features music by Sviridov, Khodosko, and Tchaikovsky.

The story follows the Ranevskaya family as they return to their ancestral estate and are forced to part with their cherished cherry orchard — a symbol of the past and lost dreams.

The ballet explores themes of memory, change, and personal choice, serving as a reminder of the fleeting nature of life’s most meaningful moments.
