The climate in Belarus is becoming tropical
Dry weather in Belarus was established in early May, since then there has been no rain in most parts of the country. The climate in Belarus is becoming tropical, Sputnik reported.
A researcher of the National Academy of Sciences said that due to the long-term shortage of precipitation, the climate in Belarus acquires tropical features. In addition, summer air temperatures are growing intensively. Such weather conditions resemble the Turkish climate.
At the same time, annual precipitation has decreased by only 5-7% over the past 30 years. Accordingly, there is no need to fear a global drought in Belarus. The only problem remains the change in the intra-annual precipitation distribution, as the summer has become drier, and in winter there has been more rain.
At the moment, Belarus, according to scientists, is experiencing a severe drought. Last May was the driest since 1945, only 6.5% of precipitation fell during the month.
If the trend for lack of precipitation in the republic continues, farmers will lose about 30-35% of the grain harvest.
Let us remind you that against the background of drought, visiting forests throughout Belarus is prohibited or restricted.
