The first Belarusian astronauts will be a woman

According to the president of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the first Belarusian astronau should be a woman, Sputnik reported.

This was the focus during the selection of applicants who will fly together with the Russian team.

Applicants from Belarus have already arrived at the Cosmonaut Training Center in Russia. There they will undergo medical selection.

The training of the selected astronaut and their understudy will be completed in the fall of 2023. After that, the Belarusian astronaut will fly to the ISS as part of the Russian team.
