The first winter swimming competitions in Polotsk

On January 19, Polotsk will host the first open winter swimming festival, which will be attended by about 40 swimmers from Belarus and Russia, BELTA writes

The festival will be attended by the largest club of tempering enthusiasts in Russia, Amber walruses from Kaliningrad. They plan to set several Guinness World records, including the time of staying in the snow.

This will be the first open competition in five age groups, the oldest participants are over 60 years old. Men and women will swim breaststroke, participate in relay races, as well as show a master class in walking in the snow, pouring water from a bucket. 

The festival will take place in the Polotsk district on the Belchitsky reservoir.

The strongest athletes will go to the 2022 World Championship, which will be held in Petrozavodsk, Russia.
