The growing popularity of medical services among foreign patients in 2023

In 2023, more than 134 thousand foreigners used medical services in Belarus, showing special interest in cardiology, oncology, neurology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology and dentistry, Sputnik shares.

In comparison with the "pre-Covid" year 2019, the geography of the countries of foreign patients has increased significantly. The proportion of citizens of the CIS countries in the total number of foreign patients is decreasing, while the number of citizens from countries such as Austria, Belgium, Montenegro, the USA, Israel and others is growing.

New services, such as surgical interventions using 3D models of hearts, as well as plastic, bariatric and orthognathic operations, have become popular with foreign patients. The Ministry of Health notes that the demand for Belarusian medical services is growing due to qualified specialists, highly specialized medical institutions and the constant introduction of new methods and technologies at reasonable prices.
