The head of WHO bureau evaluates epidemiological situation in Belarus

WHO Representative in Belarus Batyr Berdyklychev expressed his opinion on the current situation with coronavirus in the country, reports tut.by.

Currently, the number of patients with coronavirus has exceeded 10,000, and many people are worried whether the number of cases will continue to grow. The representative of WHO noted that at this stage there is a steady increase in the number of people infected. The indicators of Belarus in comparison with the entire European region are not good. The number of infected per 1 million of the population exceeds the similar ones shown in neighbouring countries of Belarus.

Despite the fact that the government has put all efforts to create the necessary laboratories for testing and treating coronavirus, the main problem is insufficient social distance in the country. In order to restrain the spread of coronavirus, it is necessary to follow to the WHO recommendations on the physical distance of people.
