The ice hockey world championship will not be held in Minsk this year

The Belarusian ice hockey Federation (FHB), referring to the International Federation (IIHF), said that Minsk is not considered as the capital of this year's world Cup if it is moved from Switzerland, reports tut.by.

According to IIHF spokesman Adam Stiess, the option of moving the 2020 tournament to Belarus is not being considered in any way. The international ice hockey Federation still plans to hold the tournament in Switzerland.

The FHB also noted that Belarus had not previously approached the IIHF with an offer to host the 2020 world Cup.

Recall that yesterday, IIHF President Rene Fasel said that Minsk is one of the options in the case of transferring the championship from Switzerland.
