The Minsk Hero City Obelisk will be renovated

The Minsk Hero City Obelisk on Prospekte Pobeditelei is being renovated in stages. In 2018, the pedestal under the obelisk was renewed, now the obelisk itself and the Motherland sculpture are subject to renovation. The project has already passed the examination, writes the magazine about Minsk Citydog.by with reference to the telegram channel of Minskstroy.

The monument was opened in 1985, on the 40th anniversary of the Great Victory. Since that year, the Motherland sculpture has never been renewed.

The project includes restoration of the obelisk and replacement of granite facing blocks of the sculpture. The Branch with a star element will also be renewed— it will be covered with a new layer of gilding.
