The number of craftsmen in Belarus is growing

The number of citizens registered as craftsmen is increasing, BELTA writes. In 2021, 50.8 thousand people paid the craft fee. This is 8.5 thousand more than in 2020.

Today, a craftsman does not need to register as an individual entrepreneur or a legal entity, pay income tax, and keep records. They can only inform the tax authorities about the desire to engage in this activity and pay once a year. It is thanks to such favorable conditions that there are more and more craftsmen.

Handicrafts are more developed in the regions: three quarters of their number are concentrated there. In addition to the economic function, the development of folk crafts performs another important task — the popularization of the rich historical heritage of the Belarusian people and their traditions.
