The process of Belarus' accession to the SCO begun

Recently we wrote that at the summit in Samarkand it was decided to start the procedure of admission of Belarus to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The Chair of the Council of the Republic stated that the process of Belarus' accession to the SCO has already begun, Minsk-News reported.

The Chair of the Council also highlighted that senators should take the initiative to participate in various SCO events, as well as establish more active interaction with members of parliaments of the organization's member states.

According to the Chair, parliamentary activity should anticipate economic prospects. "It is already necessary to analyze the readiness of our legal framework and, if necessary, to work out appropriate legislative solutions," she added.
