There are more working women than men in Minsk

At the end of 2021, the number of working women in Minsk amounted to 447 thousand. This is 56% of the total number of people employed in the economy. There are 349 thousand working men in Minsk, Minsk-News writes.

There are more women in healthcare and social services (86% of the total number of all workers in this field), education (80%), financial and insurance activities (71%), public administration (68%), temporary accommodation and nutrition services (65%).

Men predominate in construction (80%), transportation, warehousing, postal and courier activities (62%), as well as in industry (58%) fields.

The number of young people under the age of 31 working in Minsk decreased by 0.5% compared to 2020 and amounted to 23%. The number of employees older than working age decreased by 4.4% compared to 2020.
