TIME publishes portrait by Minsk artist for Person of the Year issue
American weekly news magazine TIME published a portrait of New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern created by Minsk artist for their Person of the Year issue, reports belarusfeed.com.
In December, the TIME art director contacted Victoria Savenkova with a proposal to paint a portrait of New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern for “Portraits of Influence” article.
Although the realistic artist says she doesn’t know by what criteria she was chosen but was very happy with the “person” she was given. “It is an honour for me to be selected for this work.
To complete her work, the artist was given four and a half days. Two days later, representatives of the magazine contacted Victoria, and she showed her illustration in progress. The artist sent the final version of the portrait as a file – the original copy remained with her.
