Train fares in Belarus will change from August 13

Train fares in Belarus will become more expensive from August 13minsknews.by reports.

Tariffs for passenger transportation by trains of interregional, regional and city lines have been increased by an average of 5-15%, depending on the type of communication and the distance of transportation.

The fare for passengers on trains of regional and interregional lines of business class will increase by an average of 5%, on trains of interregional lines of economy class - by 15%, on trains of regional lines of economy class - by 10%.

Fares for the transportation of passengers by trains of city lines are set for a trip within one, two or more tariff zones. They do not depend on the distance of transportation. That is a trip within one tariff zone will increase in price by 14.3%, within two - by 24%.

The decision to revise the tariffs in the above amounts was made by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus as part of the planned increase in regulated prices and tariffs in 2021 in order to maintain the level of payback for passenger transportation by rail.

The last time passenger rail fares were increased was in December 2020.
