Train tickets will also become more expensive in Belarus

New tariffs for rail transportation have been established in Belarus. The decree of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade was issued on March 11. It will come into force 5 days after the official publication, the Minsk-News agency writes with reference to the press service of the Ministry.

Tariffs for passenger transportation by rail on city lines will increase:

• by BYN0.24 within the same tariff zone;
• by BYN0.31 within two tariff zones.

The amount of increase in the cost of tickets on regional and interregional lines depends on the distance, class of lines (economy or business), types of rolling stock and carriage. For example:

• The fare on trains of regional economy class lines from Minsk to Molodechno will increase by BYN0.41, to Rudensk — by BYN0.23.
• Tickets for regional business class lines from Minsk to Bobruysk will increase by BYN1.47.
• A ticket for a seat in 2nd class in interregional business class lines from Minsk to Gomel will be more expensive by BYN3.22.
