Triennale, cycling and artistic experiments: Fascinating exhibitions worth visiting in Belarus in 2024
The Belarusian Union of Artists promises a busy cultural year in 2024. The first deputy chairman of the union, Natalia Sharangovich, told Minsk-News about the planned cultural initiatives.
Within the framework of the Year of Quality, major exhibition projects are planned, opening up prospects for artists and the creative community. The project dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Kazimir Malevich's "Black Square" will start in early 2024, providing opportunities for artists from different regions, including students, to express themselves creatively.
The plans include an exhibition in memory of Ales Rodina, the Terragraphica art event, the Art Minsk and Autumn Salon exhibitions. Sharangovich stressed the importance of supporting the work of young artists and openness to a variety of artificial expressions.
The Year of Quality also pays attention to art in the context of historical events, with the creation of an exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi occupation. Viva Kola Art exhibitions are also planned, focusing on the combination of art and cycling, and two triennales: on painting, graphics and sculpture, and the Concept Triennial, dedicated to conceptual art.
