Ukraine may impose sanctions against Belarus

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine does not exclude the possibility of imposing sanctions against Belarus, tut.by reports. The reason for the sanctions is the falsification of the results of the presidential elections and the ill-treatment of detainees during the protests.

Ukraine plans to act in accordance with the plans of the European Union and the United States. The main goal is to achieve a stable situation in Belarus and provide the citizens of this country with the opportunity to hold fair elections. Until then, Ukraine suspended the bilateral contracts concluded with Belarus.

At the same time, Ukraine draws attention to the fact that it considers interference in the internal affairs of Belarus unacceptable. The conflict within the country must be resolved through dialogue between political parties.

Nowadays, the European Union has not introduced sanctions against the Belarusian authorities. However, Ukraine joined the position of the EU countries.
