Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenka won the match in the second round of the WTA-500 tournament in Charleston, Sputnik reports.

She defeated Italian representative Elisabetta Cocciaretto. Victoria Azarenka started the tournament with a victory and is preparing to fight for a place in the quarterfinals with American Taylor Townsend.

In addition, at another WTA-250 tournament in Bogota, Belarusian tennis player Irina Shimanovich was defeated in doubles and singles.

In the updated world ranking of the Women's Tennis Organization (WTA), Victoria Azarenka rose to 26th place, Arina Sobolenko remains in second place, Alexandra Sasnovich dropped to 105th place, Irina Shimanovich is in 230th place, and Yana Kolodynska rose to 247th place.
