Victory Square after reconstruction
In the next while, the reconstruction of Victory Square in Minsk will be completed, reports tut.by. The square is closed to visitors yet, however, there are already some photos in Internet.
The reconstruction of Victory Square was begun in August 2019 and should be completed as soon as possible. The reconstruction plan included updating the site of the eternal flame under the obelisk, restoring the monument itself and granite slabs on the square.
Some new architectural objects also appeared at the underground site of the square, including a historical panel, archival photographs of the war and a multimedia screen.
During the reconstruction, the builders discovered the 1988 message in a bottle, which was hidden by the workers who were engaged in the reconstruction of the monument more than 30 years ago. We remind you that a granite obelisk was built in 1954.
The work is planned to be completed at the beginning of May, by the Day of Victory. However, the eternal flame has already been lit at the obelisk!
