Virology Center is being created in Belarus

A Virology Center is being created at the National Academy of Sciences, BELTA writes with reference to an interview with Vladimir Gusakov, the Chair of the Presidium of the NAS.

The work of the Virology center will help to form a team of scientists from different disciplines who will be able to develop medicines against newly emerging dangerous infections.

Now the key task for Belarusian scientists is to develop their own vaccine against COVID-19. A special group of leading scientists in the field of virology, immunology, genetics and cell engineering is working on this.

There is a coordination center for overcoming COVID-19 in Belarus. It makes decisions about studying the coronavirus and taking control measures. It includes more than 30 leading specialists of the healthcare system.
