Waste sorting plant will be built in Minsk instead of incinerator

In 2023, the construction of an incineration plant was to begin in Minsk. However, the project was abandoned. A waste sorting plant will be built instead, Sputnik reported.

A new plant for sorting and using waste will be built near the Trostenetsky landfill. The project work has already begun. The plant will start working by 2025 and will be able to process 600 thousand tons of waste per year.

The plant will only sort all waste from Minsk, as well as the selection of secondary resources and composting of organic matter for the production of RDF fuel.
