What is the current situation with the elections?

Today, a meeting of the headquarters of three candidates for President of the Republic of Belarus - Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, Valery Tsepkalo and Viktor Babariko took place, reports tut.by.

At the meeting, it was decided to unite the efforts of the three candidates to solve the following tasks:

• urge voters to come to the elections on August 9, 2020 and vote;
• release political prisoners and economic prisoners;
• inform voters about how to protect their votes;

• and other.

It should be reminded that the candidates for President of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Babariko and Valery Tsepkalo were not registered by the Central Election Commission. While Svetlana Tikhanovskaya will be able to continue participating in the election race.

At the moment, the following list of candidates has been approved: Alexander Lukashenko, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, Anna Kanopatskaya, Andrey Dmitriev and Sergei Cherechen.
