WHO canceled the pandemic status for COVID-19

The end of the COVID-19 pandemic was announced by the head of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Minsk-News reported.

The head of the WHO also stressed that the abolition of the status of a pandemic does not mean that there is no threat to human health on a global scale. The virus will remain in the human population. Moreover, it is still capable of fatal outcomes and is evolving. Therefore, the possibility of its new variants is not excluded, which will provoke an increase in morbidity and an increase in the number of deaths of those infected.

The period of the rise in the incidence of acute respiratory infections and COVID-19 has ended in Belarus, too.
