WHO supports Belarus for its measures against coronavirus

European regional director of the WHO Hans Kluge, sent a letter to the Minister of Health of Belarus, reports belta.by.

WHO calls upon all countries to step up their efforts, using a combination of evidence-based public health measures to contain the disease and control its spread. It is crucial importance in Europe.

World Health Organization drew attention to the professional approach of the Ministry of Health of Belarus regarding the emergency situation with COVID-19, including early detection of cases of infection, contact tracking, isolation and patient care. These measures are extremely important to stop transmission and prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.

The letter also expresses gratitude for the openness in the exchange of information and timely reporting in accordance with International health regulations.

WHO is happy to note that the approach of the Belarusian Ministry of Health is aligned with the organization's recommendations. WHO will continue to cooperate with Belarus and provide the necessary support in compliance with measures against COVID-19 coronavirus infection.
