Will the fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson take place in Belarus?

The coach and father of Khabib Nurmagomedov, the current UFC Lightweight Champion, said: “Belarus is one of the best options for the fight with Ferguson”, reports tut.by.

The fight between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov is supposed to be on the 18^th of April as a part of the UFC 249 show. The organizers are going to hold the show in the United States. However, Khabib Nurmagomedov cannot leave the country, because of the measures taken in Russia due to the spread of the coronavirus.

Now the Russian fighter is waiting when the date and the place of the fight will be determined. Russia proposed to hold the fight in Kazan, Yekaterinburg or Moscow. Abu Dhabi was also under consideration. In an interview with Sport-Express, Khabib's father and trainer, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, thanked the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko for the suggestion to hold the fight in Belarus and noted that this is one of the best options!
