Without visas to Belarus: More than 6 thousand EU citizens visited the country in 2024
Since January 1, 2024, more than 6,000 EU citizens have visited Belarus without visas, Minsk-News writes.
Since the beginning of 2024, the visa-free regime in Belarus continues to gain momentum, attracting citizens of neighboring EU countries. According to the State Border Committee, 6,305 citizens from Lithuania, Latvia and Poland have arrived in the country since January 1, 2024. This opportunity allowed 3,415 Lithuanian citizens, 1,242 Latvian citizens and 288 non-Latvian citizens, as well as 1,360 Polish citizens to visit Belarus without the need for a visa.
The total number of tourists who have used this regime since its inception has reached 806,911 people. Lithuanians are the leaders among citizens of neighboring countries who have traveled to Belarus, their number amounted to 498,626 people. Latvian citizens also actively took advantage of the opportunity to visit – 186,043 citizens and 56,403 non-citizens of Latvia entered the country. Poland, with the number of 65,839 citizens who visited, was also among those who appreciated the advantages of the Belarusian visa-free regime.
The State Border Committee recalled that visa-free entry will be extended until December 31, 2024. This decision will contribute to the expansion of business and tourism ties between Belarus and the EU countries.
