Wizz Air’s coming to Belarus is on hold, timetable yet to be agreed on

In spring 2020, the Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air was expected to start a direct flight from Minsk to Budapest. However, plans seem to change as the airline is yet to respond to the notice about Minsk Airport’s readiness to include their flights to a summer timetable, reports belarusfeed.com.

The Ministry of Transport explained that the final decision is with the airline, but so far no official response has been received. The summer flight timetable is expected to come in force on 29 March.

The Department of Aviation, as well as the Ministry of Transport, confirms that there has not yet been an official response from Wizz Air regarding their decision on flights from Minsk.

Last summer local aviation authorities signed a memorandum with the Hungarian Aviation Administration. It was assumed that the flight Minsk-Budapest will be daily. The flights to regional cities of Belarus or other EU capitals were not discussed.
