Work begins in Minsk to switch to underground water supply sources

Construction work on the transfer of Minsk to underground sources will begin in mid-September. According to the plan, the full transition to underground water supply sources will be completed by 2025, Minsk-News reported.

Minsk residents consume about 450-460 thousand cubic meters of water every day. Of these, 340 thousand are extracted from underground sources that supply almost all areas of the city. It remains to connect the Frunzensky and Moskovsky districts.

The project is already ready, it has passed the instances. Water reserves have already been found in the Dzerzhinsky and Pukhovichi districts. About 90 km of pipes will be laid to transport water to Minsk. The project work will be started on September 15, when the enterprises of the Minsk region will finish harvesting.
