You can watch the spring starfall in Minsk

In Minsk, it will be possible to watch the Lyrid meteor shower from April 16 to 26, Minsk-Novosti reported. According to some reports, the starfall will reach a maximum on the night of April 23.

The Lyrid meteor shower got its name due to the constellation Lyra, in which the radiant, the meteor departure area, is located. The shower is formed by comet C/1861 G1 Thatcher. Up to 18 meteors are expected per hour.

As noted in the Minsk Planetarium, the starfall is best observed outside the city, away from the light of lanterns, in an area with an open horizon. Meteors will be visible to the naked eye.
