Currency in Banks

Money and foreign currency

After the denomination, the international designation of the Belarusian ruble and format of mony has changed. Previously, the calculation was in hundreds, thousands and millions, but after 2016, we started counting in rubles, hundreds and thousands. The largest banknote is 500 Belarusian rubles, while the smallest - a coin of 1 kopeck.

Currency exchange in our country is allowed only in banks, bank branches, as well as in hotels, casinos and shopping centers.

In Belarus, you can buy the US dollar, Euro, Russian ruble, Zloty, UAH and Yuan.

Plastic card

Most banks have the right to issue plastic cards, and their choice is also wide: from the exclusively Belarusian payment system Belcard to international Mastercard and Visa of standard and premium class.

Banks in Minsk remain the only ones in Belarus that accept American Express cards through several ATMs located mostly in international hotel chains, such as Marriott Hotel or Double Tree by Hilton.
