History of the Orsha Linen Mill
The history of the Linen mill begins in 1930, when architects A.S. Fisenko and I.S. Nikolaev designed a raw material base. After 7 years, several workshops and auxiliary services of the first factory were already built. Of course, the Second World War left its mark on the history of the plant, and it suffered significant losses, but did not stop its activities.
In 1955, employees of the enterprise were given the opportunity to systematically travel to the dispensary for health improvement, which was very prestigious at that time. And after 2 years, they even opened the Palace of Culture in honor of the enterprise.
In 1961, the production of the second factory was commissioned.
1966 was very important for the history of the Linen mill, because it received the highest award - the Order of Lenin.
The third factory was founded in 1972. All of them existed as separate independent units, produced by textile products.
Orsha Linen Mill has been successfully developing every year. And in 1995, the Veteran House was opened for former employees, where single pensioners could make their evenings.
More and more people are beginning to recognize the Linen mill, and more than once it has become a winner in the awards “The best exporter of the country” and “The best goods of Belarus”. And shops selling linen products began to open throughout the country.
The plant worked properly and always met all environmental requirements. Therefore, today it is the largest manufacturer of linen products in the CIS countries and Europe. Products from the Orsha Linen Mill are bought in more than 40 countries around the world.
