A vegetarian sausage of domestic production will appear in Belarus
Vegetarian sausage will be produced in Belarus. It is planned to put on sale by 2023, minsknews.by reports.
According to Ekaterina Shegidevich, Deputy director for Quality and innovative work of the Institute of Meat and Dairy Industry, vegetarians, eco-activists, representatives of Christian denominations, people with various diseases who were forced to exclude animal fats and proteins from the diet often made such a request. The fact that the cost of imported vegetarian products is high also played a role.
In the recipe, soy was fundamentally abandoned. Beans, pea flour, mashed potatoes, milk powder and whey protein concentrate and butter are used in the production.
According to experts, the recipe for vegetarian sausage will still be finalized. It is also planned to launch the production of sausages with the taste of beef and chicken.
In the future, they plan to create a line of sausages for lactovegetarians - with the addition of milk, and without it for vegans.
