Belarus produced 1.5 times more peat than last year

For 8 months of this year, 2.4 million tons of peat were extracted in Belarus. This is 1.5 times more than the volume of last year, BelTA reported.

Deputy Energy Minister Denis Moroz said that the Belarusian energy system is fully ready for the upcoming heating season. To prepare for the heating season, the Ministry of Energy conducted inspections and checked the operability of more than 180 units of diesel electrical installations.

The Deputy Minister also reminded that the Ministries of Energy of Belarus and Russia have developed a joint plan to create a unified market. "At the moment, a draft agreement on the formation of the Union electricity market has been fully prepared. The document has passed the approval procedures between the ministries and will be presented to the heads of state in the near future," he added.
