Belarus ranks 41st in terms of gender gap

At a meeting of the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly, representative of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Irina Velichko said that Belarus ranks 41st out of 146 in the Global Gender Gap Index 2023, Minsk-News reported.

The share of women in the Belarusian parliament exceeds 35%, among civil servants and in the judiciary they are more than 70%.

Also, the Belarusian labor market is characterized by a higher level of education of women than men. The economic empowerment of women is aimed at assisting them in organizing their own business.

We recently posted that the birth rate in Belarus is decreasing by 10% every year.
