Belarus withdraws from Council of Europe on Sports

Belarus is withdrawing from the Expanded Partial Agreement on Sports, BelTA reported. Recently, the Belarusian has become the absolute world champion in draughts-64. In addition, several Belarusian boxers entered the top 5 ranking of the International Boxing Association.

This decision to withdraw from the Expanded Partial Agreement on Sports is due to the fact that from March 17, 2022, the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe banned the participation of Belarus in all partial agreements.

The Expanded Partial Agreement on Sports provides for the coordination of the efforts of states to promote the development of sports. The majority of the member states of the Council of Europe and countries outside the Council are parties to these agreements.
