Belarusian school students won at Olympiad on Geology

The team of Belarusian school students under the guidance of Belarusian State University's professors won gold at the VI Kazakhstan Olympiad on Geology, the BSU website writes. In June, school students from Belarus also won at the International Geographical Olympiad.

The team consisted of eight students of 8–10 grades of Gymnasium No. 5 of Minsk. Before participating in the Kazakhstan Olympiad, they became winners of the Belarusian Olympiad of Young Geologists and winners of the VIII Republican Olympiad of Young Geologists in Tatarstan.

The Olympiad consisted of 10 multidisciplinary geological competitions. They included theoretical questions and the performance of practical tasks in the field. In total, 150 schoolchildren of 9-11 grades participated in the Olympiad. And 16 teams from Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan participated.
