Belveb Bank increased the fee for opening accounts for non-residents
Belveb Bank has decided to change the fee for opening accounts by non-resident individuals. Now, for opening one account in Belarusian rubles or foreign currency, foreigners will be charged a fee of BYN 300, Sputnik reported.
At the same time, the opening of a current bank account by non-residents for salary remains free. Previously, opening an account in Belarusian rubles for non-residents was free. And for opening an account in foreign currency, they had to pay BYN 12.
A possible reason for the increase in tariffs by the bank is a large flow of Russians wishing to open accounts in Belarusian banks. In early March, Visa and Mastercard payment systems stopped working in Russia. After that, Belarusian banks offered to open international bank cards to Russians literally in one day.
Recently we published a detailed forecast on the Belarusian economy. Experts of the Eurasian Development Bank believe that the economy of Belarus will continue to fall by 5%.
