Egor Gerasimov made it to the main draw of the tournament in France

Egor Gerasimov (ATP: 358) successfully overcame qualification and entered the main draw of the tennis tournament in Pau, France, Belarus Today shares.

In the second qualifying round match, he defeated Richardas Berankis from Lithuania (ATP: 251) with a score of 7:5, 6:4, although Berankis was considered the favorite. The Belarusian showed high quality of the game, winning two sets and registering a victory in 1 hour and 24 minutes.

In the first set, Gerasimov confidently led with a break, allowing his opponent to restore balance only for a while, but eventually closed the game. There was also a serve advantage in the second set, and the Belarusian athlete was able to win in the tenth game.

In the previous qualifying match, Gerasimov defeated Frenchman Louis Dassin (ATP: 1067) – 4:6, 6:3, 6:3. The opponent in the 1/16 finals will be determined later. Many famous tennis players participate in the tournament, such as Yuri Rodionov, Harold Mayot, Kenten Gali, David Goffin, Benoit Peer, Artur Rinderknech and Brandon Nakashima.
