Employees of Belarusian game dev company agreed to work without salary
Eon Games employees refused salaries for September due to the financial difficulties the company had, devby.io reported. Recently, Belarus took the 25th place in terms of cryptocurrencies popularity among citizens.
Eon Games employs about 100 people. Part of the team stays in Belarus. Some of them are in Georgia, Poland, Cyprus. According to Eon Games employees, the company, like other IT businesses in Belarus, faced difficulties.
The CEO of the company said: "Eon Games, like many other companies, had difficulties. The financial crisis, the market has sunk, it has become more difficult to find investments. We didn't lose investors, but we couldn't get a new round from them. In this regard, we are forced to suspend salary payments until we receive a new round. We will pay off all salary debts from the new round."
"Most of the employees reacted with understanding to the situation. We have a fantastic team, ready to continue investing efforts for the sake of faith in the product. Not infinitely, of course. We hope to close the issues in the near future and continue working," the CEO added.
Eon Games is a developer of mobile games. The company was founded in 2013. In 2016, their game "Fold the World" became the best in the indie developer competition in Amsterdam. Now the main product of the company is the adventure role-playing game "Last Outlander".
